25 Weeks

It was Mommies birthday this week and we spent the day as a family just hanging out. Mommy got to sleep in, Grandma made breakfast and we got some stuff done around the house. Mom also went to see The Hunger Games on Monday with the neighbor ladies and then on Tuesday went to see the Cirque du Soleil performance of Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour.
Grandma & Grandpa Smith came on Friday afternoon and then on Saturday afternoon we all went to the Aquarium.

24 Weeks

We were hoping Alexis would take her time to start moving (unlike her sister) but she is full speed ahead! On Monday she started army crawling and is able to push herself up to "plank". Sometime she pulls her knees up and under her, but isn't quite fully crawling yet... although I am sure it won't be long. We are not quite prepared for this phase where you can't leave her and expect her to be in the same place when you get back, but it's so much fun to see her grow and develop!

With the great weather we have been having we got to go to the zoo. On Sunday after Lexi woke up (she slept until 9:00!) we all headed to the zoo... even Grandma Ruth got to come with and Great Aunt Linda meet us there. It's so much nicer to have a 2:1 than 1:1 :)

23 Weeks

Lexi is getting her first tooth! You could just barely see it last week, but now you can feel it and it is finally poked through just a little bit the past day or so. Mommy is so sad to see that gummy grin go away, but she looks pretty cute. Lexi has also been sleeping great the past few days! On Friday she slept until 6:00, woke up and ate and then fell back asleep until 9:30 in Mom's bed. Today she slept until 8:30... I think it's her tooth and maybe a growth spurt that are making her so sleepy. And last but not least, she is getting ready to move. After mastering her rolling last week, this week she is working on her plank.

The weather has been fantastic this week and after gymnastics on Wednesday Mommy & Sydney had a picnic in the park with some friends. Amy and Josh went out for drinks this afternoon to celebrate St Patrick's day and Grandma Ruth came down and watched the girls.

22 Weeks

This has been a big week for Lexi!! She is Rolling! Lexi has not only perfected rolling from her tummy too back, but is now rolling all the way around. She has also started to be able to sit on her own, but only for a few moments... if she has just a little support she can sit great. She is also sleeping 7:30-6:30 straight! Sleep training started 2 weeks ago and worked! This was also a big week for Sydney... she went to her very first movie in a movie theater. We went on Saturday to see The Lorax and she was mesmerized! We had read the book, made a hand puppet and some truffala trees as a craft and she got a little Lorax stuffed doll as a gift when we got there. Mommy got popcorn and Daddy got nachos and we all got settled in. From the very first moment she sat down she was in awe! She stared at the screen and hardly even blinked. She was so mesmerized that she even forgot to eat. Daddy would feed her chips and even though she had her own little cup of popcorn she hardly even took a bite. Since she knew the story she would get really excited and yell a little too loud when a charioteer she recognized came on the screen, but mom would remind her to whisper and then she would get quite and say "shhhh Lexi's sleeping" since that is normally when we ask her to whisper at home (and no, Lexi was not with us:)

Mom learned a lesson... don't put a dry erase board on the wall, give a child a marker and then go take a shower!

She is on the move! I left her on that little blanket in the back and when I came back she was heading for the bathroom (rolled the whole way).

We have a thumb sucker... even though she doesn't do it very often (just for a few minutes to fall asleep) and I hope she kicks the habit, it sure is cute!
